Shades & Braids was founded by Meher Kaur Sehgal on the fourth floor of Mohali City Centre 2. It runs six disciplines under one roof so that a client's hair, skin and makeup can be planned as one thing instead of three.

I didn't open my own studio because I wanted a salon. I opened it because I had a vision for what a beauty space could be.
Staying inside someone else's space meant working inside someone else's vision. I wanted the freedom to build my own — from the smallest detail of how a client is looked after to the philosophy behind the whole brand.
Shades & Braids is my interpretation of what a modern beauty studio should feel like: refined, welcoming, always evolving. A place where creativity has no ceiling, where quality isn't compromised, and where every client receives an experience that feels considered and personal.

Nothing starts without one. For colour and aesthetics it is not optional, because both depend on what has already been done to your hair or skin.
Honest about outcomes
If the photo on your phone needs three sittings, you will be told it needs three sittings — before you book, not halfway through.

Every pair of hands here is a trained one
Every service at Shades & Braids is carried out by a specially trained professional. Our stylists, therapists and technicians are trained in-house to one standard and keep training as techniques change — because a studio is only ever as good as the person holding the brush.
